My mathematical interests are mainly in algebraic combinatorics (with assorted interests in algebraic geometry and representation theory). Broadly, I enjoy learning about combinatorics in connection with algebra and geometry and finding ways in which all three overlap. I am also generally enthusiastic about (mathematical) pedagogy and thinking about how to share math with people.
I graduated from Cornell University in December 2023 with a bachelor’s in mathematics and computer science. Some wayward academic interests from my time as an undergraduate include programming languages, formal verification, physics, and linguistics. I don’t think about these things as much anymore, but I love to hear about them!
Outside of academics, in my free time I like playing games (on boards or otherwise) and doing puzzles (so much that sometimes I spend a whole weekend on them). I also enjoy dancing and playing ultimate frisbee.
axioms
I strongly believe in and attempt to uphold the following axioms laid out by Federico Ardila:
- Mathematical potential is equally present in different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
- Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
- Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
- Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
